SNEAK PEEK and SPICY EXCERPT from BEWITCH ME!!!

I can’t wait!  Here’s a sneak peek of my Halloween collection, BEWITCH ME, which I am going to finish up this weekend for you.  PASSION & PUMPKINS and MY FAIR HEX are available as single titles, of course, but I have three NEW hot Halloween stories to curl up with.

Below, blurbs for ENSORCELLED, THAT MAGIC TOUCH, and BEWITCH ME, and a semi-spicy excerpt from ENSORCELLED to get you going. 🙂

For some reason, all of these stories are witchy – I suppose that’s where my brain goes.  I was a witch for Halloween probably 90% of my childhood.  Go figure.  Happy reading and check back Monday!

Bewitch Me - SMALL

ENSORCELLED

Beautiful PR witch Felicia Dawes would do anything for her impulsive younger sister, but when Fae openly challenges Gavin Harcourt, the oh-so-sexy and powerful Head of the Council, even Felicia knows that she’s gone too far.  Desperate to save her little sister from banishment or worse, Felicia casts a love spell to stall the brooding warlock, but neither she nor Gavin are prepared for the consequences or the passion that flares between them.  When the magical dust settles, Felicia and Gavin are forced to face reality again, but will Fae’s transgression ruin their happily ever after?

PASSION & PUMPKINS

Third grade teacher Cass Webster is having a hard enough time dealing with her newly awakened witchy powers, but how’s a witch supposed to keep a level head when one sexy smile from Tom Owens sends her senses and her magic into overdrive?  When her attempt to save his award-winning pumpkins from disaster results in sparks, seduction, and a little magic, it’s up to Cass to set things to rights and convince a freaked-out Tom that falling for a witch may be the best Halloween treat of all!

THAT MAGIC TOUCH

Nursing a bruised ego and a slightly dented heart after her no-good ex-fiance cheated on her, Jane Fairhaven isn’t in the mood for a party, and would rather be anywhere other than catering a lavish corporate Halloween party for the Proctor law firm.  It’s tough enough to accept the existence of monsters, witches, and magic, but even harder to accept that Wes Proctor, the hot lawyer she’s been crushing on, is actually a powerful warlock.  When the party turns into a magical orgy, Jane finds herself trapped in a storage room with the blue-eyed hottie, who can’t seem to take her predicament seriously.  Can Wes persuade Jane that all she needs is a little magic to spice up her life and let her see the future instead of dwelling on the past?

MY FAIR HEX

Half-pixie Lea Gillingham is totally ready to quit.  She loves her job as assistant to the powerful Kirk Rhodes, but she’d throw it all away for one night of passion with the gorgeous but arrogant warlock. Unfortunately, Kirk has never been a one-woman warlock, and in any case, is completely oblivious.  Determined to seduce her maddening boss at the Halloween Ball, Lea disguises herself as a succubus, sure that Kirk will never know the truth.  But when Lea’s spell goes awry, Kirk starts to see his sexy assistant in a new light, and sets out to show her that he can change his ways and become a one-pixie man, no magic required.

BEWITCH ME

There goes the neighborhood.  Trent Langley is furious when his building goes magical, and the added chaos from warlocks, elves, and half-trolls taking up residence in his posh condo is enough to drive a man crazy.  If that weren’t enough, Trent is sure that the stunning witch across the hall has bewitched him – he can’t stop thinking about Isabella Fiero, though she denies any witchy meddling.  Isabella can’t help her attraction to her hot new neighbor, and though she hasn’t cast any spells, she can’t rule out the possibility that her magic may be luring him to her. When Trent demands answers, he and Isabella need to figure out if their white-hot chemistry is a magical glitch, or just natural attraction, impossible to deny.

EXCERPT FROM ENSORCELLED:

SHE KNEW.

The thought bounced around in Gavin’s head like a demented Jack-in-the-Box as he tried to process the idea.  She knew what she did to him.  She knew that she was his vulnerability, that given any weakness in his emotional armor, she could wriggle her way in and methodically destroy him from the inside out.  Because he couldn’t say no.  She was offering herself to him on a silver platter, and he couldn’t convince himself to turn her down.

Gavin steeled himself.

You can’t have her.  Scare her off before it’s too late.

She didn’t need his darkness, and if he had to banish Fae, she’d never speak to him again.  This situation had regret written all over it.

“Anything?” he asked, his voice harsh, and Felicia nodded, eyes wide.

Deliberately, Gavin let his eyes wander down her figure, lingering on the curves of her breasts, the womanly swell of her hips, and the juncture at the top of her thighs.  Felicia bit her lip but let him look, her fingers gripping the edges of his jacket.

Jeez, that dress is painted on.

“If I asked, would you strip for me?  Right here?” he growled.

A tiny inhalation, and then a nod.

Gavin’s cock jerked in his pants.

“Go to your knees and take my cock down your throat?”

“Yes,” breathed Felicia.

Gavin caught her involuntary swallow, as though she were picturing it, and nearly groaned aloud.

“So you’d fuck me on this rooftop to protect your sister?”

“Yes, I would.”

“What if I called my bodyguards up here and said I wanted you to spread your thighs so I could watch them fuck you?”

“You don’t share,” she gasped, but there was a trace of uncertainty, of fear in her voice, and Gavin couldn’t go on.

He could humiliate her, insult her, destroy her interest in him, but it might kill him in the process.

Eyes burning into hers, Gavin took her hand and pressed a kiss into the palm, savoring her shiver and the sweetness of her skin.

“Go home, Felicia,” he murmured, feeling lower than low as tears gathered in her green eyes.

Gavin couldn’t take it.  Turning, he reached for the door handle.

“Wait!  Gavin, stop!”

Gavin ignored Felicia’s desperate command.  He needed to get away from her before he did something monumentally stupid.  His body was tight with arousal, and the hunger he saw in her eyes only twisted the knife deeper – if he hadn’t been such a chicken shit and actually approached her the way he’d wanted to, they might have had something.  And now it was too late.

The rush of warm magic was a complete surprise, and Gavin barely had time to turn around before he felt it spread…heat and power, surging through his body in warm, seductive pulses.

“What did you do?!?” he gasped, his head falling back.

It felt like warm fingers were stroking every inch of his body.

Felicia stepped forward, her eyes worried.

“It’s just a little smitten spell.  I’m so sorry, Gavin.  But if you won’t let Fae go, I need some time to figure something out.  It’ll just make you starry-eyed for a little while, but the effects will wear off in time.”

Gavin groaned.  The warm fingers had morphed into searing hunger, and the only thing that mattered was getting as close to Felicia Dawes as possible.

Must touch.

She squeaked in surprise as he grabbed her and pressed her back against the wall, the feel of her body soothing and inflaming at the same time.

Much better, he thought.

Bewitching Halloween Shorts – COMING SOON!

So.  THIS.  🙂

A couple of old favorites alongside a few steamy, magical new Halloween shorts.  The terrible thing is that I was supposed to get this out LAST YEAR, and the world got away from me.  I think I was deep in stress mode over SAFE FROM THE DARK at the time.  Whatever.  No excuses.  Time management is always my greatest weakness.

That and shiny objects on the ground.  Oooh!

I have 1 1/2 stories to finish on this, but it wouldn’t be October without some naughty Halloween fun, so hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze them in between Bright’s Ferry and MORE THAN A NIGHT.

Bewitch Me - SMALL

There’s candy corn in the air…

With all the business of getting MORE THAN A NIGHT and SAFE FROM THE STORM in working order, I didn’t want to forget that it’s October!  Halloween!  Black cats and magic and candy corn!

I have a few treats in store in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!!!

My Fair Hex - SMALLEST

Half-pixie Lea Gillingham loves her job as assistant to the powerful Kirk Rhodes, but if she had a choice between her job and a night of passion with the gorgeous but arrogant warlock, she’d take his hard body in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, Kirk has never been a one-woman warlock, and in any case, has never seen her as an object of desire, though she’s indispensable to him. As her feelings grow despite her best efforts to squelch them, Lea realizes that she can’t go on like this, but is determined to take one lasting memory of pleasure with her when she leaves. With a little help from her BFF and a handy spell, Lea disguises herself as a succubus, determined to seduce her maddening boss at the Halloween Ball, even if her disguise means he’ll never know the truth.

Kirk Rhodes is intrigued when a surprisingly shy little succubus approaches him at the Halloween Ball in search of a conquest for the night. He’s happy to oblige, but there’s something different about her. The evening takes a strange turn when he suddenly finds himself fantasizing about Lea, rather than the voluptuous sex goddess in his arms. It’s only when Lea’s spell starts to falter that fantasy and reality collide, and Kirk sets out to convince his sexy and skeptical assistant that he can change his ways and become a one-pixie man, no magic required.

EXCERPT:

“You either have to quit, or you have to fuck him and then quit.”

Lea rolled over on the bed to let her tiny dragonfly wings flutter, frowning as she remembered the conversation.  Tricia was right, of course.  She couldn’t keep working for the man, knowing how she felt about him and knowing, too, that he’d never see her as anything but his assistant.  She loved her job, but this was killing her.  But if she was going to go, she was damn sure going to take the memory of one spectacular night of pleasure with her.  Which brought her back to Tricia’s bedroom and Lea’s risky, stupid, so-crazy-it-might-work plan.

“Those wings are so hot, girl.  I don’t understand why you keep them covered.  If I had pixie wings, I’d be showing them off!”

“They’re not professional, Tricia.  The last thing I need is the guys at the office thinking I’m easy because I’m yet another blonde, brainless, pixie bimbo.”

“You’re only half a pixie bimbo, sweetie. The other half is all witch.”

“And how do you think I ended up that way?  Dad was a young warlock working for the mayor, Mom flashed her wings at him one night in the elevator, and BAM.”

“It’s icky that you know that.”  Tricia wrinkled her nose.

“Tell me about it.  Mom has no off switch.”

“Well, tonight at the Halloween Ball, you’re not going to be a witch or a pixie, Lea.  You’re going to be a drop-dead-come-do-me-succubus, and Kirk isn’t going to be able to keep his hands off you.  Or his tongue, or his – ”

“I get it, thanks.”

Tricia held up a lavender corset and a tiny matching skirt.

“This is the one.  Come on, let’s get your face on.”

The spell was a tricky one, but Lea had followed the directions meticulously.  Being only half-witch, she needed Tricia’s help to pull it off.

“Are you sure I should just do my face?”  She was dubious as she stood in the bathroom over a portable cauldron that bubbled with turquoise goo.

Tricia rolled her eyes.

“We have to practice you looking in the mirror once in a while, Lea.  Every succubus in the city would kill to have your curves.  Not to mention those legs.  Personally, I think you should just lock Kirk in his office and strip down.  I guarantee he’ll notice.”

“He won’t come near me if he knows it’s me.”

“Then he’s an idiot.”

Lea glared at her.

“I don’t want to have this argument again.  Look, I don’t want him to feel obligated to try for more than he has to give, and I don’t want the gentle rejection.  I just want a night of mindless hot sex to tide me over until the next time I’m stupid enough to fall for someone who’s out of my league.  It doesn’t matter what I do.  He looks at me and sees a filing cabinet.”

“Tomorrow we’re going to get seriously drunk and have a little discussion about what is and isn’t your league,” Tricia sighed.

“Are you going to help me, here?  I don’t have enough magic to set the spell on my own.”

“Fine.  But I want to lodge a formal protest.”

“Noted.  And I love you.”

“Of course you do.  You know this is only going to work because he’s a total warlock whore.”

“Yeah, I’m trying not to dwell on that.”

Lea dipped a hand in the goo and smeared it all over her face.

“Ready?” Tricia asked, and Lea nodded.

Happy Friday!

The first 30K of MORE THAN A NIGHT are looking good!  The last 20K still need a little slashing with the red pen, but I’m pushing through a great pace!  Here’s a little excerpt to get your weekend started.

More Than A Night - SMALL

EXCERPT:

ERIN HAD BATTLED NERVES since the moment she woke up, wondering if this was a huge mistake after all, wondering if she’d feel the same punch of heat when Henry touched her again.  She almost called the whole thing off, but Renee had dragged her shopping the day before, loading her up with naughty little scraps of silk and lace despite her protests.  It seemed silly to dress for Henry – it wasn’t like she needed to seduce him.

“This month is all about fantasy, Erin,” said Renee, holding up a sheer black lace teddy with silver trim, “Tell me you’re not the tiniest bit interested in the look on Henry’s face when he sees you in this.”

And it was true.  It was completely irrational, but Erin wanted Henry to find her irresistible, to watch his eyes smolder when she sauntered toward him, to hear his growl of pleasure as he ripped the lace aside to find her breasts…

There would be no calling it off.

The flight to Burlington was short, and from there, it was just an hour’s drive out to Covington, a quaint little hideaway, and then Henry’s farm.  Erin hadn’t been sure what to expect, but the rolling green hills and the long barns next to a weathered farmhouse were a charming surprise.  She had no experience with cows, but even to Erin’s untrained eye, the modest herd munching in the pasture seemed content and well-cared for.  As she stepped out of the cab, Erin registered the details – patches on the roof, peeling paint, and a truck that seemed to be held together with safety pins and chewing gum.

None of it mattered, because Henry was striding toward her, as tall and drool-worthy as she remembered, a tentative smile on his face, banked heat in his eyes.  Erin felt a response flicker through her…until she noticed the woman on the porch and the boy peeking out around her skirts.

“I’m so sorry,” began Henry, and Erin frowned as reality crashed down.

“I thought you said they were leaving?”

“Yeah, well, try making a ten-year-old do something he doesn’t want to do.  And if Mike stays home…”

“Myra does, too.”

Their eyes met, and Erin couldn’t help feeling sympathetic, despite her selfish desire to have him all to herself.  Henry looked so flustered…anxious.

“If you want to call it off – ” he said and stopped, swallowing hard.

“No – ”

The word was out before Erin had a chance to think about it, a gut reaction, but –

“What did you tell them?”

Nerves fluttered through her.

“They pretty much assume you’re my girlfriend.”

Erin leaned against the car, assimilating, as the cabbie hefted her suitcase from the trunk.

“Okay,” she said.

“Yeah?” grinned Henry.

“Well, it’s better than sugar mama, right?” she joked, and winced internally as Henry frowned.

New rule, no talking about our “arrangement,” Erin advised herself.

Apparently, Henry didn’t want to dwell on the money any more than she did.  Erin busied herself tipping the cabbie, and then turned back to face him.

“So, in a normal situation, you would kiss your girlfriend hello, right?”

“That would be the polite thing to do,” he agreed.

Dust spluttered as the cab pulled away and Henry put his hands on her waist.  He tugged her forward until his body brushed hers, and Erin couldn’t help the tiny moan that escaped her throat at the feel of him, all hard muscle and strength.  Suddenly, she couldn’t believe she’d survived weeks without touching him.  She wanted to push him up against the nearest flat surface and ravish him from head to toe.  Henry heard the little sound and she felt his hard, hot body get even harder.  His mouth lowered to carefully press against hers.  To the observers, it would seem like a friendly, gentle salutation.  To Erin, it was an exercise in restraint – not to yank him closer, devour his mouth, and urge his hands all over her body.  He wasn’t as in control as he appeared, either.  Though his mouth was casual against hers, his fingers bit into her hips, and she caught the murmured, “Fuck,” as he tore his lips away.

Editing!

Is so time consuming!  No excerpt today – I’m trying to focus on getting MORE THAN A NIGHT out for you and then finish up SAFE FROM THE STORM.

Also, Halloween is coming!  I may have a little witchy story bundle for you later in the month.

Check back later in the week!

“Storm” Thoughts

There are still little red marks all over MORE THAN A NIGHT, so it’s going to be a few more days until I work my way through everything, but I’m very pleased with how it’s turning out!  The barn scene is especially hot…:)

I’m taking today to work on SAFE FROM THE STORM, for a couple of reasons – a) It helps to put something down and go back to it later with a fresh perspective, and b) Nora and Tony are incredibly challenging and need all the attention I can give them!

I believe I mentioned when I started SFS that Nora was going to be tricky, and she is – she’s a victim of a situation, and the personality she demanded was quiet and ladylike and sort of naturally submissive, which is not what I normally write at all.  Grace in SFF is somewhat submissive in the bedroom, but nowhere else.  But I like the idea that under Nora’s meek porcelain doll exterior is a core of steel and a willingness to do whatever it takes.  As a result, I’m bouncing between letting Tony save her in a hot, alpha, Sheriff-y sort of way, and giving her enough oomph to save herself.  So, he thinks she’s fragile, and so does she, but they’re both wrong – she’s actually a survivor, and not passive in the slightest.  The goal is to find the balance there, and the contrast between Steffen and Tony – Steffen is dominant, aggressive, and a bully, and Tony needs to represent the flip side of that – a little dominant, determined, and actually very wounded underneath it all.  It’s a lot of fun to write, but there are days when I want to tear my hair out!  Anyway, a few weeks on that, and then SAFE FROM THE WILD hopefully for January – more on that to come.

Have a great weekend, my dear readers!

Safe From the Storm

Sheriff Tony Arnetto has been going through the motions since his wife Nora disappeared in a sailing accident five years ago, leaving behind a mysterious inheritance, a shadowy ex-husband, and a pile of questions that make Tony wonder if he even knew the beautiful redhead at all.  When she shows up in Bright’s  Ferry, alive and desperate for his help, Tony finds his world turned upside down.  Torn between love and anger, he struggles to deal with her sudden reappearance in his life, even as the town braces for the storm of the century.

Nora Allen’s past is catching up to her.  Unable to outrun her vicious and manipulative first husband any longer, she’s been forced back to Bright’s Ferry to get Tony to sign over her fortune and hopefully convince the evil Steffen Decelles to leave her in peace at last.  To start over.  However, Nora doesn’t count on Steffen’s desire for revenge or Tony’s stubborn resentment despite the electricity that still sparks whenever Nora comes close to her sexy sheriff.  With the water rising and passion spinning them out of control, Nora and Tony face off against a madman and each other, forced to accept their past if they have any chance of a future.

New Layout! New Colors!

What do you think?

It’s finally starting to feel like fall around here, though I don’t want to jinx it – it’ll probably spike to the 90s this weekend just to spite me. 🙂  Meanwhile, the week is progressing nicely.  In editing MORE THAN A NIGHT I’m discovering that I use way too many commas.

The Kringle poll is still up if you want to weigh in – just scroll down to Monday.  So far, writing two new, longer books seems to be the most popular idea, LOL…we’ll see.  I might have a nervous breakdown right around Thanksgiving if I attempt that.  The pen is willing but the schedule is less than cooperative.  Let’s just say that I’m very tempted and might just have both of them semi-outlined and leave it at that.

On to the writing!  All these pretty new colors are inspiring me to get to it.  Have a lovely Wednesday, everyone!
